Once I’m watching a documentary on the life in Israel particularly in Jerusalem, I saw this salad and the Israeli told the journalist its ingredients and voila, I said I have to try it. So here it is!

Wishing your favorite milktea shop comes with other exciting menu? Well, I finally found a Cafe which offers food and drinks far beyond “just coffee.”
BLACK SCOOP CAFE DASMARIÑAS
Location:
Upper Ground Floor (adjacent to Potato Corner) SM City, Aguinaldo Hiway, Dasmariñas City
I was invited to try the newly opened Black Scoop Cafe at SM City Dasma. I am not an avid fan of milkteas but I loved Cafes. So I accepted the invitation. Checking on their facebook page, it says its kid friendly so I tagged along my 2 kids. Thinking the menu would fit both their palates, my eldest is 17, and my little boy is 4. So we went ahead and check it out before buying some stuff for school.
Thinking that this might be another milktea or coffee shop, we were surprised with the menu, they got wings!
Imagine chicken wings and milktea, not your usual combination but they got it all perfectly right!
White Rabbit Sundae Php 120, Cheesecake milktea and carbonara
The staff told us that the carbonara will take about 15 minutes waiting time, but it was served first before the rest of our orders.
The carbonara was served with a very aesthetic presentation. It was twisted, piled up which make it more exciting to eat. The taste won’t let you down.
Carbonara Php 200
We loved the chicken wings! Marinated with spicy sauce, plus it was crunchy!
Chicken wings Php 190 for 6pcs.
Their cookies and cream Milktea comes with a delightful real cream on top. It was so creamy, as if you are eating an ice cream which also happened to be Milktea.
Cookies and cream milktea Php 130
Their Cheesecake Milktea wouldn’t disappoint your thirsty & hungry tastebuds. It comes with a luxurious serving of cheesecake mixed into the Milktea plus their pearls were also tender.
Cheesecake milktea with pearls Php 145
Wanting to try something different for your sundae? Try their white rabbit candy flavor, and tour back to memory lane of the 90s.
White rabbit Milktea and sundae
Your typical Grandma’s chocolate cake is a perfect partner for your coffee or Milktea.

Definitely Eastwood City rocked on the event held by Jim Beam Highball last November 12-16, 2019 at Eastwood Central Plaza.Braving the traffic from Makati where our shuttle picked up to Eastwood really spelled disaster, but the fun at Jim Beam Highball’s Event swept all our stress.
Literally, it was a night of overflowing drinks and food, I get to bond with old and blogger/media friends.
I was glad to be invited as one of the VIP guests for this event and heading to Eastwood from Cavite is no joke especially considering the travel time. What made me curious to attend the event is to try the taste of Jim Beam’s newest flavors plus the fun of collaborating with fellow media/blogger friends.
And of course, adding on the fun is their guest performer Clara Benin.

And of course, since I tried mixing my own Jim Beam with the help of their lovely brand ambassador, I got a lovely mug which will be my mixing mug of Jim Beam whenever I need a refreshing drink!

Of course, parties wouldn’t be parties without meeting new friends! Who would have thought that my Shuttle seatmates (oh, we endured together the 4hr traffic along C5), would be my party mates!

Brazilian Barbeque? What sparks in your mind when you think of something Brazilian? Me, honestly I have no idea at all. So when I heard of a Brazilian Resto at the South of the Metro, I head on to Alabang Festival Mall to try.
Toucan Brazilian BBQ and Restaurant
Festival Supermall, Unit 2205, Expansion Wing, Festival Supermall, Corporate Avenue, Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa
So I did some research and find that Toucan literally means a South American bird with a large brightly-coloured beak which have numerous symbolic meanings and it is Brazil’s national bird, as you can see in the restaurant’s logo. Toucan also symbolises communication and showmanship. For co-owner, “Batista”, Toucan means “Hope”. A hope that Brazilian Barbeque which he really loves, will also soon be known to the Philippine market.
Toucan Brazilian BBQ Buffet Restaurant is a spacious restaurant good enough for 80 to 100 persons. It is a perfect place for family reunions, company gatherings, friendship celebrations or just to satify your craving for lunch or dinner buffet.
You will notice the “Brazilian feel”, colors of yellow and green all over the place and artwork fill the walls.
The buffet is situated at the right side, with a wine bar on the side, and an ice cream freezer beside the table for drinks.
Then I found this Videoke bar at the corner, they set it up here if one wants to sing along.
Food is amazing! Different choices of food are available at the buffet area. You will find that not only Brazilian barbeque are being served here but also your favorite Filipino, Chinese and Japanese dishes, salad selection like egg salad, macaroni salad, garden salad and many more. I’ve captured some of their dishes here.
This has been my favorite here, I think I had 3 servings of their macaroni salad
This has been my favorite too!
Choco and Vanilla Ice cream
Pork Belly
Comparing to Korean Barbeque, their meats were not marinated into different sauces but they just add salt to taste. But you can savor the taste of fresh meat, the Brazilian Barbeque difference is their grilling style and food service.
MEAT CHOICES
Top sirloin
Baby Beef
Beef Rump
Chicken legs
Shrimps
Sausages
Maminha
Pork Belly
Just when you think you had it all on your plate then here comes their serving of Brazilian barbeques. So what makes the experience different is that all meats are placed on long skewers placed on racks over the fire. Waiters carry the skewers table to table and serve the goodness to your plate for as many as you want. NOW THAT’S THE GOOD NEWS – no need to line on que, nor rush to cook or get the meat burned (if you do the grilling).
I loved their sausage! We were served with beef, pork belly, chicken, shrimps, and even grilled pineapple (my 1st time to try).
Food choices is great, service is great. There are actually so many choices that I can’t even finish them all!
Beef Rump
Plus, their owner and chef is also friendly, you can easily approach him if you have queries.
Co-Owner, he is fondly called “Batista”
I’ve tried Toucan Brazilian BBQ Buffet with my daughter who were also fully satisfied.
Serious with Sausages!
My top 5 choices:
Sausage
Beef rump
Pumpkin soup
Macaroni salad
Grilled pineapple
These meals can do better:
Ham – it was too salty
Baked Mac- I loved a little bit saucy for my baked mac, theirs was quite dry

If your coming from Commerce Avenue of Festival Mall just like we did, you will find quite a hard time looking for the place. To find the expansion wing, look for S&R, then walk straight, look for the expansion wing. When you reach the garden of the expansion wing, head on to the escalator (You will see Tim Hortons), go straight and see Starbucks (Toucan Brazilian BBQ Buffet Restaurant is beside Starbucks)
The best way to get here is on the Civic Drive street, the one facing Asian Hospital, it was just infront.

You entered a place and find yourself in a different setting as if chance has transported you to a different time and place. Oooppss, this is not an intro to a novel, ha! ha! that is what I exactly felt while I was at Leonarda’s Brew.
Leonarda’s Brew
Sta Rosa – Tagaytay Road, Pasong Langka, Silang Cavite.
0905 453 7313
After our day tour at Yoki’s Farm , I craved for some coffee and dessert, and as agreed by my hubby, we decided to head to Leonarda’s Brew. It was a 30-minute drive from Mendez, Cavite going to Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay Road. Having tried a lot of coffee shops lately, I was also wondering what’s with Leonarda’s Brew for us to visit. The cafe was quite far from where we are heading home – General Trias City. But we still pushed with the agenda.
Looking for Leonarda’s Brew via google maps led us to the wrong place – so we followed what the owner told us to just traverse the highway (it is just beside Angelfield’s Sanctuary and Rekados). You may contact Ms. Aileen at the number posted at the page and for sure she will attend to your queries. So finally, we found Leonarda’s Brew.
Leonarda’s Brew is a bohemian-themed cafe, where every corner of the shop is 100% Instagrammable. I tell you, it was an odd feeling for me since after seeing thousands of antique cups and saucers sitting in the museum (practically sitting at the shelves for viewing only) at Yoki’s Farm , I felt like the old and time past, the classic feeling came alive! I was transported from old and antique, to finally seeing the vintage, bohemian pieces new, real, clean and I’m using a classically styled coffee cup! What a delightful feeling and weird too!
Leonarda’s Brew boasts of its classic style of brewing coffee which is called “syphon coffee”, it uses a 18th Century old mechanism (which is being used in Germany) to brew coffee right at your own table. It was used to bring out the best coffee taste, separating the acidic taste from the beans. Siphon or syphon is a tube used to convey liquid upwards from a reservoir and then down to a lower level of its own accord. Once the liquid has been forced into the tube, typically by suction or immersion, flow continues unaided.
Come and taste a slice of Paradise with Leonara’s Buco Creampie and Mango Mantecado a slice of buco creampie costs P90, and you can take home a box for pasalubong for only P450.
Their Mango Mantecado is not just your ordinary mango and graham shake, it is so creamy that my son even mistaken it as an ice cream, he loved it! Priced at P180/glass
Siphon or Syphon coffee with buco creampie. Syphon coffee P250 good for 2 to 3 persons
They also have pasalubong center!
This stereo is working!
I love the designs of the cups and saucers!
My favorite pieces of art
I feel at home, I have a square design like these ones too!

I think it is the best time to visit the place at around 10am and in the afternoon at 4pm onwards, the scorching heat is radiating inside the cafe. So if ever you happen to be there around 12nn-2pm better positioned yourself near the aircon. Ms. Gerlie said (staff), there are already plans for adding additional aircon unit to cool the place at noontime. We also wanted to visit again to see Leonarda’s Brew Cafe at night (with the lights on), I wonder what’s the view.

If you love coffee like me, you can notice an emerging of coffee and cafe businesses. Usually, you can see improvement in the “cafe” designs turning them into lovely, Instagrammable, and make you feel “instantly at home.” But this cafe in Gateway Cubao is a simple, small cafe but has rich, tempting food you’ll surely love especially for health buff like me.
As I told you on my latest blog, I had been to Diana Stalder’s Beauty-Biz Momma launching, we also had the experience to try their coffee and food at dS Cafe. And so I loved their food, I feel I should share to you my experience at dS Cafe.

Ms. Dina, President & CEO of Diana Stalder Dermaline Inc. also shared her advocacy of coaching mommies on how to have a fit and healthy lifestyle. She even told us that she offers free coaching seminars on how to lose weight fast just by modifying how we eat food and selecting proper foods to eat. This advocacy is being shared in dS Cafe thus you can try a sample of their organic products. Personally, I enjoyed each and every bit of the food served.

Let’s have coffee! – One of the famous lines when it comes to connecting with new business partners to sit down and talk for a cup of coffee. Now there’s a Cafe where connections and talks goes beyond “business” and aims to create more meaningful connections beyond your usual coffee break.
iCafe is a unique cafe located at the Church of God building. The 1st time I heard about the place was when my daughter had an assignment and have to feature a church. So we went to the Church of God and was amazed by the highly visual, high-tech building and instagrammable design of the whole building itself. That was last October, 2018. Coming to iCafe that time was not intentional. Since after going to Church, there were youth members then who are offering “free coffee.” Since I wanted to try and taste their coffee I agreed to sit down with the girl member of the youth fellowship. She were giving away free chocolates and coffee in exchange of a short talk, a short time for her to discuss the Programs of the Church. So we sit in and tried. The experience was great – coffee and fellowship blend perfectly well since the mood is relaxing, the mind is open to accept ideas and to connect.
1st visit to Church of God – on the left side is the iCafe
Me and the kids took a quick shot after our iCafe experience
Now, just last month, March, 2019, I’ve been lucky to visit iCafe again and get to know the more about the Cafe this time with Ms. Mei Cahigas, COO of iCafe, Church of God and the Southbloggers team.
Ms. Mei Cahigas of iCafe
What is iCafe?
i – I
C – Connect
A – Assist
F – Fellowship
E – Enjoy
This is what iCafe stands for, and relating my 1st experience was good to understand the connect, assist and fellowship aspects of the cafe. I really enjoyed the connection built from that and having someone to sit down and talk about God and His Plans is something unique over a cup of coffee.
The food and drinks in iCafe
They boast of various flavors of frappes to choose from. I tried 8 of their frappes and I can tell they are all deserving of the praise. You can ask the level of sugar to put in and I recommend you just try the 50% sugar level. The frappes offers distinct taste and you can easily distinguish the flavors one from another. Unlike the other Cafes I went to, which seems to have same the same flavors (but different names). iCafe got me for their authentic mix of blends for their cafe, adding the instagrammable presentation makes it a perfect Cafe experience.
My best picks are:
Mango Tango are their version of Mango float with graham. One big order is enough for 2 persons. Their version is really yummy! I suggest you request just 50% sugar to go with you mango tango shake.
Cherry choco berry
Butterscotch frappe has a taste that I cannot fully describe, it’s taste like cake only mixed into a frappe. It has a unique blend which I haven’t tasted yet on other cafe.
If you want a real matcha experience, you can try theirs. It is really tasty, that it tastes like “wheatgrass”. For tea and natural herb lovers, they may actually like their version of matcha tea.
iCafe Cakes and pastries
Again, this is a BIG PLUS for me. Imagine going to a Cafe where you can actually Choose. You can choose which cake to eat because you have a CHOICE not because you are left with just 2 to 3 choices. They have 6 cakes and pastries like banana muffin, cookies, ensaymada and brownies.
My best picks are
Ube Macapuno – it has real ube and macapuno filling at the inside of the cake, leaving you craving for more.
Banana Muffin – Soft, yummy muffins topped with chocolates. Best served hot. There’s a yummy goodness in every bite.
Blueberry Cheesecake – Comparing to other cafe’s offering blueberry cheesecakes which are too sweet. I love how iCafe baked it right.
Other food choices
For strong coffee lovers, you can try Shakarato with whipped cream. It is black coffee with 3 shots of espresso.
God Bless Sausage
Get full with this big sausage, prepared just right. I suggest they add pickles, cheese, chilli beans, or jalapeno to make it more delicious and to add variety to the meal.Wish they will also have pasta and salads.
iCafe space is good enough for 70pax, perfect for seminars or group meetings. Anyone can visit iCafe, it is open to all members or non-members of the Church. The profit derived from iCafe goes to the continous construction of the Church and its other needs.
iCafe is also nearby to the Church’s Persion Gym so after finishing your routine work out, chill with frappe and pastries with friends or go solo. You can never feel alone.
